About my hometown :)


My hometown is Kumamoto in Japan and it’s one of Kyusyu and I like Kumamoto. It is really countryside so it has a lot of nature. Aso is one of the most famous cities in Kumamoto because it is famous for caldera. But in this essay, let me introduce Kumamoto city which is the biggest city in Kumamoto.
First, I take you to Kumamoto castle. Kumamoto Castle is one of the most famous castles in Japan, it was built by Kiyomasa Kato about 400 years ago and you can learn about history of Kumamoto there. You can take pictures of Japanese style castle. There are a big park and the museum next to the castle, so you can also enjoy those places. I recommend you to have a lunch in the park because the view from the park is so beautiful. You can eat lunch with looking beautiful Kumamoto Castle.

Next, we can go to Suizenji Park which has Japanese garden. You can experience tea ceremony and feel Japanese culture. I really recommend you to eat ikinari-dango in this park because ikinari-dango of here is really famous and tastes so good. Ikinari-dango is famous food in Kumamoto, and it tastes like sweet potatoes. Also there are some souvenir shops so you can buy Japanese stuff for your family or friends. If you go to the Suizenji Park, you can feel a lot of Japanese cultures.

Finally, I take you to my university, Kumamoto Gakuen University. It is near the Suizenji Park and it takes about 15 minutes by bus from downtown. You can look a foreign university and learn differences. In my University, there are 3 cafeterias. Bakery, large cafeteria, and student centre. Almost exchange students like the bakery because many kinds of breads are sold there. If you come to my university in November 1-3th, you can enjoy our school festival!! KGU’s festival is really famous and there are some special ornaments in the campus. Students prepare for the festival about 4 months before. My university is really good place.

Kumamoto is really good place to live. If you come, you can touch a lot of Japanese cultures. It will be good opportunity to learn about Japan and enjoy your trip.
